These dogs are like the best of two dogs. They have the high intelligence of the golden retriever and the French poodle. But as a designer dog they also share some of the best characteristics such as a great personality. I have owned several golden retrievers and as a child our family pet was a poodle. Now I must say that I favor the golden retriever over many other breeds, but the combination of the two as a designer dog breed is just great. My goldendoodle has the playful personality and the loyalty that I've grown to love over the years of living with goldens. But inside the house it's absolutely great to have a non shedding dog.

    Once the puppy coat is gone and the curls start to appear, they are absolutely one of the best looking dogs around. People have looked at photos and asked me if it was a stuffed toy animal. The coat is typically non-shed. These designer dogs can have several different coat types, from curly to shaggy. The coat colors also have a wide variety from white to chocolate.
